Midland Forex Bureau
Ltd, incorporated in Uganda in 1997 is a subsidiary of Midland Group of
Companies established in east Africa in 1937. Midland Forex Bureau has been licensed by the central
Bank of Uganda to trade in Foreign Currency, Traveler’s Checks and electronic
money transfers services and has developed into an outstanding financial institution
presently, dealing in large volumes of foreign and local currencies, Traveler’s
checks as well as money transfers. Midland Group of Companies is active in
various business specialty activities such as Nokia Mobile Phones,
International School, Forex Bureau, Real Estate and Diary Processing Plant established
in Mbarara district with an overall group Investment worth over $15 Million USD and employing 600 staff.
We are now seeking for
a technically qualified to manage our ever-increasing and diversified operations
in Kampala. The applicant should have a Bachelor of Commerce degree with
accounting bias or its equivalence and would have the responsibilities to:
1. Guides financial decisions by establishing,
monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
2.
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and
enforcing internal controls.
3. Monitor and confirms financial condition by conducting
audits; providing information to external auditors.
4. Maximize return, and limits risk, on cash by
minimizing bank balances; making investments.
5.
Lead in the preparation of the operational
budgets and reports.
6.
Manage the trading functions to deliver
overall corporate goals including the determination of forex rates, interbank
deals and inter Bureau and Customer deals.
7.
Maintain updated knowledge about the
latest financial development within the country’s economy and with other
counties.
8.
Monitor a large scale of forex exchange functions
and operations within the banking environment.
9.
Review reconciliation sheets ensuring
their balancing according to the industry regulations.
10.
Manage the research on both foreign
markets, use of fundamental technical analysis; and provide appropriate
solutions or reconciliations for all accounts.
11.
Maintain the relationships between
interventions or counterpart financial institutions.
